Free Apple Pruning Demonstration at Hackleboro Orchards  
Hackleboro Orchards, 61 Orchard Road, Canterbury, NH
Sunday, March 6, 2016, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm (Raindate: March 13th)

Harry Weiser of Hackleboro Orchards will be using over 30 years of pruning expertise to demonstrate pruning of standard, semi-dwarf and dwarf apple trees. This event is free and open to everyone. The event is outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Free hot coffee, fresh cider donuts, and apples will be available. Questions can be directed to Harry Weiser at: hackleboro@hotmail.com. Blueberries, Apples, Peaches, Pears, Cherries Pruning Demonstration
J. Downey's Orchard, 1004 Lane Road, Epsom, NH
Saturday, April 9, 2016, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Join Amy Papineau and George Hamilton, UNH Cooperative Extension Food & Agriculture Field Specialists, for an informative pruning demonstration at Joe Downey's small fruit orchard. Our specialists will show how to properly prune blueberry bushes and various fruit trees to keep the plants productive and healthy. The demonstration is free but a suggested $5.00 donation is appreciated at the event. Please be prepared for weather and snow as the demo is outside. Pre-registration is appreciated by contacting Mary West at 796-2151 or mary.west@unh.edu.

UNH Cooperative Extension will be presenting an ornamental pruning workshop to teach home gardeners how to prune ornamental trees and shrubs commonly found in home landscapes, such as crabapples, forsythia, spirea, junipers, rhododendrons and more. If you have pruning equipment (sharp pruners, loppers and pruning saws) and leather gloves, bring them with you. More information to be coming soon.
